My views on AOL, life, and the internet
I made psycospath as just a side project as I often times do different things to keep my interests up. I have been on America Online for quite a while now, since Chocolate X punter was first released and Pepsi 2.0 was the "happenin" prog. It seems that the underground scene really has lost meaning since it was first started. Granted I was by no means an original "warez d00d" or founder of the underground, I still know that a hell of a lot has changed. Now, most rooms like fate, magenta, havok, hellraiser, etc. are full of people showing off their punters and "testing their anti". Now, I am not trying to be self righteous here, but doesn’t it seem pretty stupid. I mean, anyone with half a brain can get a punter and anyone who is constantly a victim will get an anti punt. Anti punts should have never been made because we shouldn’t be punting each other. I think punter were meant as a way of keeping peace much like a sysop on IRC does. If some jackass comes in a chat room on IRC and starts being a little shit, the sysop would just ban him. Easy enough. On AoL, people will come in a chatroom seeing how many times they can scroll the word "penis" and you have to wait for some "Guide" to come along. That’s were punters fit in, simple solution to great annoyence. Now, everytime I see a new punter, I feel my IQ drop by 10 points. I am sure I am not the only one who feels the same way. I think that I am going to release a 3rd and final version of this prog and then retire from America Online for good. My new project is to build myself a computer and after that, I will begin plans for psychospath v3.o. I think that people in general would better themselves by leaving america online once and for all. No one else on the internet takes AOL seriously, and there is so much that AOL blocks access from. Telnet for instance is great fun. UNIX in general is great. UNIX is an operating system that many internet server machines run on and is a programmers best friend(imagine DOS that is much more complicated with a built in C compiler) On all versions of AOL except aol95, you cannot telnet into other machines. That sucks. You cannot get on IRC except with aol95. That sucks. You have to use America Online's stupid mail program, that sucks. Most people are complete idiots, that’s why they got aol in the first place. Oh well, I have had enough bitching and drank enough beer for tonight, sorry if you feel ive wasted your time, but maybe this is something to think about and maybe you agree. Oh yea, if you like UNIX, get a version of Linux for your PC. Check out
